Apple TV, very unfortunately, just won’t do it. Para aquellos que estén haciendo uso de Infuse 4, 5 o 6, la empresa ofrece un año gratis de Infuse Pro si actualizan a la versión 7. Infuse 7.4 has arrived and includes a host of great improvements. The only solution I’ve seen to be able to get Atmos / TrueHD from BD rips via Plex / Infuse is the Nvidia Shield as it does support TrueHD throughput.

The reason you’re getting Atmos from everything else, including the Atmos test files played via Infuse, is that they’re all encoded using Dolby Digital Plus (or E-AC3), a lossy codec that can still carry the Atmos metadata (which is what all the streaming services use to preserve bandwidth). The Apple TV (or the app, never quite been sure which) will decode the TrueHD, repackage it as multichannel LPCM and send it out in a Dolby MAT container which the TV may or may not do some additional re-encoding to and the Sonos Arc will see as either Dolby Digital 5.1 or Dolby Digital Plus 5.1. It can play all files directly without transcoding. 1 Like NCBullseye January 3, 2019, 8:23pm 3 Infuse doesn’t require a companion application running on a different machine. The Apple TV Plex app (even with the new player) cannot do this. Neither Plex nor Infuse will pass it through as tvOS doesn’t support TrueHD. The major advantage for me is that Infuse will convert DTS-HD and TrueHD 7.1 to lossless PCM. Unfortunately, the Apple TV 4K does not support TrueHD in any way. Welcome to the pain all Plex / Infuse / Apple TV 4K users are experiencing re: TrueHD / Atmos.Įvery piece of your chain is TrueHD / Atmos compatible…. Netflix, Disney+, and Dolby Atmos test files (playing from Infuse Pro App) are working fine with Atmos though. Is this normal ? Shouldn’t I be or supposedly be getting Atmos sound on the Arc Home Theatre? Ive been quite happy with Infuse but the delay in updating was making me pull my hair out.So I have the ATV 4K (using the Infuse Pro app), LG C9 connected via ARC port (enabled eARC) with the Sonos Arc + HT (Sub Gen2 + OneSL) I have a source file playing with Dolby TrueHD 7.1 track but I am only receiving DD 5.1 on the Sonos system as verified by On the App. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction at least. I deleted both shares and then readded my single Plex source and now Infuse seems happy. I went in to dump Plex to try letting Infuse handle it altogether and noticed the two shares in there. I changed the computer that was running my Plex server semi recently, but apparently never deleted that share from Infuse.

Infuse gives full playback support, but super slow library updates.

#INFUSE VS. INFUSE PRO UPDATE#

Plex can update my library quickly, but i dont get full playback support. What would be great is letting my Plex server handle the library itself, and Infuse just acting as a front end to play it all. It seems theres no happy medium that does them all. Searching indicates this is a common theme with Infuse. This is concerning, especially as my library grows. My tiny library take ~5 minutes to complete updating. Infuse on the other hand will direct play DV and will correctly output DDP Atmos but library updating is ABYSMALLY slow. DDP Atmos soundtracks turn into PCM and i lose Atmos. Plex will not play DV movies at all, says that it cannot direct play because the colorspace is not supported. Im using these with an Apple TV 4K, and coming from a Shield that played anything and everything with Plex it is very frustrating because the Apple TV is much quicker and I dont have ads all over the home screen. Currently have a small library (<50 movies, 10 total tv series).
